CHI Limited — the Lagos company behind Chivita juices and Hollandia dairy — is returning to Nigerian ownership. Coca-Cola took a 40% stake in 2016 and then completed a full acquisition of CHI in January 2019 1, paying $257m for the remaining 60% and folding a homegrown juice-and-dairy champion into the world's biggest beverage company.
Then it reversed. In 2025, Coca-Cola agreed to sell CHI (Chivita and Hollandia) to UAC of Nigeria plc 2 — a Nigerian conglomerate — bringing the brands back under Nigerian ownership.
That makes Chivita a rarity on this desk: a brand that went foreign and came home. Where most African icons exit to a multinational and stay there, CHI's value is routing back to Lagos — the counter-move to the pattern the tracker documents.
